Micro Sites

Micro Sites

Compact ground-based or rooftop telecom sites for locations where a full-size tower is not practical.

Overview

Understanding Micro Sites

A micro site is a smaller telecom site with a lower structure and a compact equipment area. It gives operators a way to extend coverage into places where there is no room, permission or need for a full-size macro tower.

Micro sites are commonly used to fill coverage gaps between existing towers, in dense built-up areas, and in growing towns and suburbs.

JP Space Infrastructure establishes and maintains micro site infrastructure and offers it to licensed telecom service providers on lease, rent or sale basis.

What it provides

  • Ground-based or rooftop site structures
  • A compact footprint for space-constrained locations
  • Space for operator equipment on a shared structure
  • Coverage infill between larger tower sites

Where it is used

  • Dense city and town centres
  • Gaps between existing macro towers
  • Expanding suburbs and semi-urban areas
  • Highways and transport corridors

Our role

Infrastructure, provided the right way

As a DoT-registered Infrastructure Provider Category-I, we provide the infrastructure. Licensed telecom service providers install and operate their own network equipment and services on it.

  • Establishing the site or in-building infrastructure
  • Maintaining the infrastructure for the duration of the agreement
  • Offering it on lease, rent or sale basis on mutually agreed terms
  • Providing it to licensed telecom service providers in a non-discriminatory manner
